Mince pies

British recipe 🥣🎄

Pre heat the oven 190*C

85gr sultanas + raisins + currants
35gr almonds chopped
1/2 bramley apple grated
100gr dark muscovado sugar
50gr candied peel chopped
75gr dried cranberries
1 orange grated
1 lemon grated
1tsp mixed spice
40gr shredded suet
50ml brandy

Pastry:
225gr plain flour
125gr chilled unsalted butter
salt
1 large egg yolk2tbsp hot water
2tbsp milk
1tbsp caster sugar

Mix mince meat in a bowl put in fridge.
For the pastry, mix the flour, butter, salt in bowl add the egg and water, form a dough, turn onto a flowered surface and knead until smooth.
Chill for 10′ in the fridge, the roll it out to 2mm thick and cut 24discs (with cutter cookie).
Press each disc gently into the individual bases of the mince meat.
Top the pies with pretty shapes cut from the remaining pastry dough (stars or tree).
Brush each with a little milk sprinkle with caster sugar and bake for 20′ until I golden.
