Marble cake

Recipe 🥣

125gr unsalted butter (melted)
125gr dark choolate (chopped)
5 eggs (separated)
125gr golden caster sugar
125gr plain floor
2tsp baking powder
2tsp vanilla extract

Pre heat the oven 180*C
loaf tin and line with baking paper
melt the chocolate in a heat proof bowl and set over a saucepan of simmering water
making sure the surface of the water does not touch the bowl in a separate large bowl
whisk the egg yolks and sugar together using an electric hand whisk until pale
beat in the cooled, melted butter, then sift in the flour and baking powder and fold in
separate the mixture into two large bowls
fold the vanilla into one of the mixtures and the melted chocolate into the other
in a large dry bowl whisk the egg whites to stir peaks
then gently fold half of the egg white into each cake moisture
spoon layers of the mixtures alternately into the prepared tin
then run through a skewer 2-3 times to crate a marble effect
bake in the oven x 45′
