TECHNIQUE CRAFT 🌸

Pleated flower:
cut 2” wide long strip of fabric and press the strip in half,
wrong sides together to create a 1” wide strip, starting at one end,
fold the strip over to create a pleat next to your first and continue until you hae a circle of pleats,
continue sewing pleats behind the first circle of pleats to create a second layer,
make these pleats slightly, once at the end of the strip,
curl the pleated fabric round to create a flower shape,
making it as loose or tigh as you want depending on the flower size,
sew the layers together at the back to secure,
sew a button in the centre when finish.

Gathered flower:
Cut a long strip of fabric 1” wide for a small flower or 3” wide for large flower,
fold one end over to create a small 0,5 cm hem and secure with a stitch,
sew running stitch from the them along the bottom of the strip of fabric,
when you reach the end of the trip, pull the thread so the fabric gathers,
coil the gathered strip to form a flower shape and sew through the layers at the back to secure,
sew a button in the centre to finish.

Gathered petal flower:
die cut circles from fabric or felt,
using fold the circles in half if you want rounded petals and in half if you want quarters, pointed petals,
starting in the corner of the curved side of your folded circle,
make long running stitches a cross the curve to the other side and gently pull the thread to gather the petal,
once gathered thread on a new petal,
once gathered thread on a new petal (and repeat this step),
continue stitching and gathering until all your petals are connected and complete,
here 5 petals form a flower but you can add as many petals form a flower,
close the gab by stitching the last petal with the first to form a flower shape,
to finish sew some fabric to the back to heaten if you are making large flowers and sew a buttom in the centre.

Twisted flower:
cut a 2” wide long strip of fabric and press the strip in half,
wrong sides together to create a 1” wide strip,
tie a loose knot at one end and tuck the end of the knot under,
take the length of fabric next to the knot and twist it up and over the knot,
twist the fabric around the knot in a coil to create petals,
always twist in the same direction,
continue to twist an wrap until you have the flower the right size,
snip off any excess fabric,
finish with a buttom.

Unfilled flowers:
die-cut nine circles of fabric,
fold the fabric circles in half,
then quarters to form the petals,
cut a small circle of fabric and glue the corner off one folded circle down to the middle,
followed by there other folded circles to form the first layer,
glue a second layer of petals on top of the first layer,
take your final petal and glue to the centre of the layers and fluff up the flower, you cold add a button to the centre of the flower to finish
